Why The Grate Guys
Catwalks, done right
Open-grating walking decks
Bar grating or expanded metal keeps the walking surface lighter, drains water, and lets debris fall through where a solid plate would collect sludge. Serrated options are used where wet boots or washdown are expected.
Guardrails built in
Handrails, toe boards, mid-rails, ladder gates, and kick plates are detailed with the catwalk frame. Adding those pieces later usually leaves awkward weld-on fixes and blocked service clearances.
Bolted plant sections
Long catwalks are broken into sections that can pass through doors, around machines, and into existing plant rooms. Bolted splices make installation practical without shutting down more of the facility than needed.

Catwalks are elevated or at-grade access walkways custom-fabricated for maintenance routes, equipment access, mezzanine connections, conveyor lines, tanks, pits, rooftops, and industrial service areas.We build around drawings, measurements, and site conditions with steel framing, bar grating or plate walking surfaces, guardrails, stairs, gates, and finish options, made to order in our Toronto shop, licensed, insured, and WSIB-covered, with a workmanship warranty on every order, supplied and installed across the GTA and shipped Canada-wide.
