What to expect from drainage grates
Bearing edges protected
The grate has to sit on a frame or concrete ledge that can carry traffic. Weak bearing edges lead to rocking, noise, and broken concrete around the drain.
Wheel paths considered
Forklift tires, vehicle tires, pallet jacks, and pedestrian shoes all cross grates differently. Bar direction and spacing are selected so wheels do not drop into the openings.
Cleaning access included
Drainage systems collect sediment. Lift-out sections, manageable panel weights, and pry slots let crews clear the channel without wrecking the grate.

The Grate Guys builds drainage grates around drawings, measurements, traffic duty, finish exposure, and installation constraints using galvanized steel, powder-coat, stainless details, or heavier plate selected around corrosion and traffic exposure, made to order in our Toronto shop, licensed, insured, and WSIB-covered, with a workmanship warranty on every order, supplied and installed across the GTA and shipped Canada-wide.
