Edges prepared before coating
Cut edges, welds, handles, and banding need cleanup before powder coating. Rough steel under coating still looks rough and fails faster.
Wear areas considered
Powder coat can wear at wheel paths, bearing edges, and lift points. High-traffic grates may need a different finish if abrasion is severe.
Drainage still performs
Coating thickness and coverage are planned so slots, mesh, and frame fit remain open. A decorative finish should not interfere with the grate's function.

The Grate Guys builds powder coated grates around drawings, measurements, traffic duty, finish exposure, and installation constraints using galvanized steel, powder-coat, stainless details, or heavier plate selected around corrosion and traffic exposure, made to order in our Toronto shop, licensed, insured, and WSIB-covered, with a workmanship warranty on every order, supplied and installed across the GTA and shipped Canada-wide.
